The Red Factory. One look and it's easy to see why it was given the name. I had initiatively thought it was simply painted red, but upon closer inspection I realised its walls and floor are coated in a thick layer of red powder. The scene looks kind of like a martian landscape?
History
From what I gathered, the factory used to manufacture ferrite powder for various industrial uses. This explains why the place is covered in a thick coat of red powder. The factory seems to have closed sometime in 2018.

01 | Entering the Factory
As we made our way to the factory, I noticed huge sacks of cut branches and leaves. It seemed workers had been around to do regular maintenance. The exterior of the building looked pretty plain and unassuming, just like any other warehouse in the area. As we walked in, we were greeted with a huge open space. The factory had been cleared out, but the huge space made it look impressive.
I saw a single light spot and got my friend to take a photo. The scene looked like it was from the Mr. Bean opening scene (if you know).
02 | The Control Room
Right in the middle of the warehouse was a small two-story building, cutting the space into two. Someone had inscribed a message on the bottom door reading 'Live danger do not enter' and 'undersoot' (lol the pun). We took the stairs up to the second floor. It seemed to be some kind of office space or control room. The key cabinet still retained a full set of keys. I wonder what doors they open.
The door on the opposite end opens to an elevated platform and overlooks the 'martian' landscape. Huge concrete blocks stand firm and towering. Another elevated platform stands on the opposite end with a staircase stripped bare.
03 | Martian Playground
The arrangement of the structures and spaces looked curious and abstract. I suppose they used to support some kind of machinery for the production process, but for now, it felt like a playground. We walked under the towering concrete blocks and up the platform on the other end. Random holes were cut into the ground, and you could look down into the space below. Nothing was spared from the thick red powder.
04 | Toilet Peep Hole
Beyond a door in the bathroom was a dimly lit room. As if that wasn't creepy enough, red streaks appeared to seep from the bathroom walls. It's easy to assume these streaks are likely from ferrite powder, yet they still resemble something from a murder crime scene. With clothes hangers still in place, this room was probably used as a changing area.
It was also hard to ignore the huge gapping hole punched right through one of the toilet walls - An extra large peep hole. It would have taken quite abit of effort to carve a hole into that thick of a wall. Were they trying to demolish the wall and simply gave up half way?
My Thoughts
An interesting spot I would otherwise not have known about. Atleast now I know how the inside of a ferrite powder factory looks like.
